Intimate Distance
was made during the lockdown of 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic. Rather than being a direct response to what is happening, it was negotiation of what could not happen. In early 2020 I spent several months preparing for a video based participatory performance work, a round table of dinner, as a part of my residency in Museum of Contemporary Art, Tucson. It had to get cancelled at a very last minute for the safety of everyone involved. In hopes of one day revisiting the initial idea, I made a home version. It speaks to the distance and longing for intimacy we are all experiencing at this moment.
